We’ve moved to Mount Beauty. And yes — your boot fitting just got better.
We’ve moved to Mount Beauty. And yes — your boot fitting just got better.
After years fitting boots in Melbourne (and living out of the car for Sydney and Brisbane trips), we’ve come home — back to the mountains, back to where skiing actually happens.
Mount Beauty is now basecamp.
And while the postcode has changed, the bigger shift is how we work with you.
Because if you’re going to travel further to see us, the experience needs to be tighter, smarter, and worth every kilometre of petrol.
The old way (good, but not perfect)
Traditionally, a full custom ski boot Ortho Ski fit looked like this:
Appointment 1: assessment, boot selection, planning
Appointment 2: return visit for fitting, modifications, tweaks
It worked.
But it also meant two trips, more time off, more logistics — especially if you weren’t local.
The new way (built around you)
We’ve redesigned the process so you only need one in-person visit.
Here’s how it works now:
1. Telehealth consult (before you travel)
We start with a proper deep-dive online.
Fill out your questionnaire before your telehealth consult. This is in your booking confirmation email.
We cover your foot shape, biomechanics, injury history
Current boots (and everything that bothers you about them)
Skiing style, goals, and terrain
Any previous orthotics or fit issues
This isn’t a quick chat — it’s the thinking part of the fit, done properly.
2. We prep everything before you arrive
This is where it gets interesting.
Based on your consult, we will:
Select the right boot for your foot and skiing (and yes, we have a great way to get the size right)
Choose the appropriate liner option
Begin pre-modifications to the shell where required
Plan your custom orthotic approach
So when you walk in, we’re not starting from scratch — we’re already halfway there.
3. One in-person appointment (the fun part)
You come to Mount Beauty once.
We:
Fit the boot
Finalise the orthotic
Dial in alignment and stance
Make real-time modifications
You leave with a setup that’s finished and ready to hit the slopes, not “come back in two weeks.”
Why we’ve done this
Because your time matters.
Because travel is real and fuel is expensive.
And because the best results happen when we can:
Think clearly upfront
Prepare properly
Execute efficiently
It’s a more considered process — less rushed, more precise.
A small but important detail: deposits
If we’re sourcing and modifying a boot or liner for you before you arrive, we’ll take a deposit during the telehealth consult.
Why?
Because once we start modifying a boot, it becomes your boot.
This allows us to:
Commit fully to your setup
Get ahead of the work
Make your in-person appointment count
No delays.
What this means for you
One trip, not two
Less downtime, more skiing
A more dialled end result
Better use of your appointment time
And honestly — it’s closer to how high-performance boot fitting should work.
Sydney clients — same system
If you’re seeing us in Sydney, nothing changes except the location.
Same process:
Telehealth first
Prep behind the scenes
One in-person session
Cleaner. Smarter. Done properly.
Final word
Moving the clinic to Mount Beauty wasn’t just a lifestyle decision (though… it’s pretty nice). It’s coming home to the mountains.
It gave us the chance to rethink the entire experience — and build a system that respects your time, your travel, and your skiing.
Less back-and-forth.
More outcome.
And ultimately — better days on snow.
