Why expertise matters in boot fitting

There’s a big difference between selling a boot and fitting a boot. Just like there’s a difference between having product knowledge and being an expert.

Any good ski shop will have a bunch of eager ski girls and ski guys full of product knowledge and ready and willing to point out all the shiny new buckles on the latest range of ski boots on the wall. Knowing what boots are on offer is important. But what’s more important is understanding the value of each boot to a particular skier - and this comes from expertise.

What makes us different?

Expertise comes from years of experience fitting boots on the bench and on the hill, and in our case, we also have podiatry qualifications and knowledge of the lower limb, ensuring every boot feels as good on the slopes as it does in the shop. Years of study combined with decades of practice allows us to determine what’s important for you in a boot. And as important as it is to know what ski boot can do, it’s equally important to know what it can’t do.

Our comprehensive skier assessment process is key to getting you in the right boot from the start. We analyse your anatomy, biomechanics, skiing style, and individual preferences so we can tailor a custom boot fitting solution that's as unique as you are. And we know you’re special, and we’re not even your mum!

Our ski pods consider your biomechanics when selecting the correct flex in a ski boot. Betcha you didn’t know your biomechanics have a much greater influence on which boot you need, than the type of skiing you plan on doing?

Understanding the mechanisms for blood flow and numbness in the foot means our ski pods can help you get into a comfortable custom set up to ski all day, even if you have never been able to ski for more than a few hours without pain previously. Or perhaps this is the key to getting your reluctant ski buddy sorted, who has never enjoyed the thrill of last lifts, because they can’t make it past morning coffee break due to painful feet.

As you embark on your skiing adventures this season, remember the power of expertise. It's not just about the gear you wear – it's about the experience and knowledge, passion and dedication of the experts who help you along the way. Don’t waste your ski time this season, see us and get ready before you go.
